My husband and I decided to read the Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. Oprah has featured Pastor Warren twice on LifeClass lately. I'm not a huge OWN watcher but I DVR'd both episodes and they were excellent. We had both been given numerous copies of the book in the past but never finished the book. After watching the episodes we decided we would read the book together.
In case you don't know, The Purpose Driven Life is a book written by a Pastor about determining and living your purpose. It's a 40 day project where you read one chapter a day. We are only a few days in but the lesson on Thursday really spoke to me and I uncovered a new favorite quote. Check this out...
typed it up and taped it to my desk at the office.
By George Bernard Shaw.
"This is the true joy of life: the being used up for a purpose recognized by yourself to be a mighty one; being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clot of ailments and grievances, complaining the world will not devote itself to making you happy."
I just love it particularly the part about being a force of nature.
Anyway I just had to share this because it really spoke volumes to me about how I want to be and also how I do not want to be.
Happy Monday!

That's a great quote! I am afraid sometimes I fall into the second category, even though I try not to.
I'm with Leslie^^^. It's a great quote and a good reminder when I feel myself falling into the "selfish little clot" category:)
