Predictions

I totally love awards season.  No idea why but I do.  Mainly its the dresses.

I definitely have not seen all of the movies but I have seen a few and I like making predictions so here they are...


Best Movie, Drama.  I'm thinking Lincoln with Zero Dark Thirty as a backup.  I've seen both and I think Lincoln has the edge.  Zero Dark Thirty is good but hard to watch at points in the movie.

Best Actor, Drama.  Daniel Day Lewis hands down.

Best Actress, Drama.  Thinking Jessica Chastain for Zero Dark Thirty but I have not seen any of the other movies in this category although I generally like Naomi Watts and Rachel Weisz.

Best Movie, Musical or Comedy.  I think Les Mis really might win.  I haven't seen it but I hear its fantastic and since the Drama and Comedy categories are split at the Golden Globes I think it could win.  I don't think Les Mis stands a chance at the Oscars.  I saw Salmon Fishing in the Yemen and I don't think it is as good as everyone is saying Les Mis is.  Strong back up I think is Silver Linings Playbook.

Best Actor, Musical or Comedy.  Hugh Jackman is my prediction.

Best Actress, Comedy.  I'd say Jennifer Lawrence because everyone says she's amazing.  Strong backup is Emily Blunt because I just like her.

Best Supporting Actress.  The real contest I think is between Sally Field and Anne Hathaway.  I think Anne Hathaway is the stronger candidate so I pick her.

Best Supporting Actor.  I think Tommy Lee Jones is going to win this and at the Oscars.  He's amazing.  Second runner up would be Phillip Seymour Hoffman although I'd love to see Leo DiCaprio win something someday.

Best Director.  I think Steven Spielberg should win for Lincoln here and at the Oscars.  Although Ben Affleck is awfully cute.
