I really love New Years Resolutions or Goals as I like to call them. Granted most of the time I accomplish a few and then forget about them by March. I am going forward in this year with a sense of optimism that I will complete at least some of my goals I jotted down. My husband said I should pace myself but a little optimism never hurt anyone.
My Goals are as follows:
Goal Numero Uno... Finish decorating 3 rooms in my house plus finish our backyard. I am almost completely done with the dining room, then it will be Ella's room and our bedroom. Our backyard is a hot mess. I'm sure there will be plenty of posts on that topic in the coming months.
My second goal is to be more creative. Take more pictures, write more, cook more, bake more, wrap more, etc.
My third goal is to take cooking classes. This is something I want to do for me and to have something fun to do with my family and friends. My goal is to take one a month.
My fourth goal is to make more memories and create family traditions. I really want to do more exciting things now that Ella is a little older. Also along with this I want to take more photos, make scrapbooks and commemorate our memories more.
My fifth goal is ongoing which is to streamline and organize our household. I've already tackled one of these tasks which was to create a family notebook. I want to make things easier and more organized in our house. The biggest part of this goal would be eliminate our junk room.
My sixth goal is to take better care of myself. I want to move more, eat better, get outside more and do the things I need to do take care of myself like making my bi-annual dermatologist appointment for instance.
My seventh goal is that by the end of the year our family will recycle more than we trash. We are pretty close to this now but I want to make it a habit.
My eighth goal is to commit to and be active members of a Sunday School Class. Now if we can get Ella to stay in the nursery...
My ninth goal has to do with my blog, which is to get the blog re-designed, update my logo and name, plan and style photoshoots, include more home design, write more, focus on being a better writer and include 100% original content.
My final goal is a big one which is to be more selfless, loving and kind. I want to do more random acts of kindness and be more mindful of others and how I affect others through my mood and energy.
I have two quotes I really want to embrace this year.
The Days are Long But the Years are Short.
Be Responsible for the Energy You Bring Into This Space.
So that's it but I'm hoping this is a year of getting outside of my comfort zone, taking on some new challenges and embracing my family and the people around me.

I loved reading your goals, most of which are similar to mine. You sound like a really lovely person. Don't ask too much to your lovely self!! Happy new year!! xx Coco
Thanks so much. I like to aim high so in March when I think, "What were my New Years goals again?" I hopefully will have checked just a few off.
I love reading your blog with all of your great insights for different products and other ideas. I can definitely relate to your goals and not always making it across the finish line. One of my goals this year is also to be more organized at home. I have been looking for resources to create a family notebook and was hoping you could share any you may have found useful as you put together yours. Happy New Year!
Hi! I plan on featuring my notebook sometime next week. I got the idea on Pinterest but I didn't use a tutorial. Mine is intended to keep all of our important docs in one place and also to be used in a case of emergency. I included the deed to our house, titles to our cars, birth certificates, etc. It's funny because after all of that important stuff are the paint chips for each room in our house. Haha. I basically wanted to pretty much eliminate our filing drawer as much as possible and give us a way to know where every critical document was without having to dig through an overstuffed filing drawer. I'll do a feature next week most likely.
