Public Service Announcement

I feel strongly about not using my blog to push an agenda so I don't talk about politics, presidential candidates, the economy, etc.  This is hard for me because I am very interested in politics and in general have very strong opinions.  Nevertheless I have refrained because I don't want to offend anyone or alienate any of my readers.

The time has come for that to end because there is something I feel so strongly about that I must address.  I don't want Ella growing up in a world where things like this continue to go on and the good citizens of the US stand by and let it happen.  It is time for it to end...

We can stop them.  We can.  As a human race we have a duty to end the nonsense and to stop the Kardashians once and for all.

The wedding was a publicity stunt and we all know it.  Her diamond ring was worth millions and millions of dollars was spent on that wedding.  I frankly am appalled that in this worldwide economic crisis millions of dollars are going towards this ridiculousness.  People are literally starving and homeless in this country right now.

Think about how many schools that could have funded...
How many children that could have been fed...
How Greece could have been bailed out (they gave us tzaziki sauce, we kind of owe them).

It is time for this nonsense to stop.

I don't wish anything bad about upon these people.  I don't know them and I wish no ill will.  They are more than welcome to continue being beautiful and rich in California far away from me and without my knowledge.  They contribute nothing, they have earned nothing and they do not deserve our attention any longer.

So here's the deal and I truly believe if we ignore them they will just go away.  Here's the plan...

Do not buy any magazine with them on the cover.
Do not watch any television show that they are on particularly the one that bears their name.
Do not buy their products.
Do not even look in their direction.

If we ignore them maybe they will go away.

It's time for us as a human race to act.

agreed! i can't stand it either... they are famous for doing NOTHING. i would much rather give money to someone deserving... and by flipping out over the end of her faux-marriage, we only perpetuate the tabloid frenzy. people, just stop caring! read blogs like ours instead. ;)

Ha Ha. I'll actually admit, I have watched some Kardashians in my time! But that being said I think the big problem is the society's priorities are ridiculously out of whack. The world of socialites/entertainment/news have become seriously muddled. I do get worried for younger girls who look up to these women and don't think of achieving anything themselves or contributing to society...they just want to get famous and release a perfume/clothing line. A bit sad really :(

you know me, I buy a People Magazine every week because I believe that is the way that God intended it to be BUT I now refuse to purchase a magazine if there is a Kardashian or a person from one of those Teenage Mom shows on the cover. I mean really, are we that desperate for entertainment that we seek out random people who contribute nothing to live vicariously through? So yes Little Sister I wholeheartedly agree...

i can not tell you how much i love this. i don't want to talk about it on my blog either, but you make a good point. maybe it's important for us to point out it's so disgusting to be obsessed with this family. i hate when i go to a blog and they're talking about this crap. maybe we should start an anti-kardashian campaign? i was just telling my husband the other night: "Gays can't get married but people like Kim Kardashian can?! She is clearly ruining "the sanctity of marriage" and no one cares!" Maybe we need to start making a stand on our blogs against this to counter the other people. thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Awesome post. I've been a blog stalker er follower of yours for a while and this is my first time posting. I love reading the mindless gossip mags but absolutely refuse to buy them if any of these K people are on the cover. I refuse to watch their show, I will not contribute to their ridiculous dumbing down of America. I hope this boycott takes off and it is the end of their show and empire!

I'm sorry but I don't believe Kim Kardashian or her family is responsible for the downfall of our economy. Why are we not questioning the competence of our President or other politicians that are responsible for "our" money? And on another note, who does anyone know if her wedding was a publicity stunt? How very cruel. I'm sure that at her age, she doesn't want to be divorced twice now. And since there wasn't any research done before you wrote this, here's some to help you out. Kim Kardashian gives away 10% of what she makes each year to a charity. Mainly a church her mother created in Calabasas. Oh and $200,000 will be donated to the Dream Foundation, which is the cost of her wedding gifts.

Love it! I have never watched the show and am amazed how much I know about the K's without ever seeking them out. I will continue to ignore them and hope they go away. I'm pleased to know that other people will be doing the same thing.

I've already been ignoring them, so I doubt my picketing will do much good. But I totally agree with you. It is utter ridiculousness and really appalling.

I love everything you have said here and so glad to know that you and all those commenting feel the same way I do. It's RIDICULOUS the attention this family is given when their fame all started with a leaked inappropriate home video. Sickening! Very well said! :)

Let me clarify that I am not criticizing the Kardashians for not giving money away. I don't know if they do or not but that's sort of the point I don't want to know what they do. I don't know why they are rammed down our throats when most people could care less. My comment was the amount of money that circulates around the airing of the wedding and subsequent media coverage.
