The Cambridge Crowd

Today was a sad day.  I mentioned last week that a childhood friend of mine had died.  He died in a military training accident in Georgia.  He was one of my oldest friends and my very first boyfriend and his funeral was today.  We were hot and heavy when we were about 4 years old.  We held hands walking into our first days of school.  I remember it vividly.  His death has really made me think about my childhood friends and how lucky I am.  Growing up I lived in a neighborhood full of kids my age and David's death led lots of us to begin to reminisce about those days of playing in each others yards, riding bikes and the bond that all of us still share.  Throughout our adolescence many families moved away and the rest of us grew up, graduated and went off to school but  it was great to remember those times when we were kids.  This experience has really made me value those old friends from childhood, high school and my youth group because...

There's nothing like an old friend.
