As you may have read Ella Gray was born on April 29 two weeks and one day early.
The prior Monday I went to the doctor and found out I was dilated and having contractions. My doctor looked at me and told me to carry my medical records that I need to be admitted around with me. It was sort of funny. I went home and sure enough started having regular contractions but they didn't hurt and I was able to sleep through them. That continued for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Finally on Thursday, I had resigned myself that it wasn't going to happen that week and I went out with my sister all day. I had this amazing energy. I felt great.
This was the conversation right before going to bed Thursday night...
Me to Chris: You know we have to get up at 4 to watch the Royal Wedding.
Chris: YOU can get up at 4. I am not.
My water broke at 4 AM on the nose.
I was asleep and my water broke. I called my mom to make sure that I was right about what was happening because I wasn't having any contractions that I could feel. She said it was and Chris said that if it didn't there was something seriously wrong with me and we needed to go to the hospital anyway. Good point. I had this fear that I would go to the hospital and they would tell me that my water didn't break and that I had an.... umm.... accident.
We got to the hospital around 5 AM. Checked in. I was dilated to a 2. They started the drugs to get my contractions started along with an epidural. 17 hours later we had Ella.
Me and Baby Ella. Day 2.
The past 10 days have been amazing and so much fun. She changes every single day and I already feel like she's growing up.

Chris right before we went home.
Thanks to everyone for your sweet notes, comments and love. She's precious.
On another bright note, I am hoping that being home for a few months will allow me to start blogging daily again. The last few months of my pregnancy were exhausting and it was hard for me to keep up with work and the blog and I thank all of you for being patient and kind.
I can't wait to get back to blogging daily. It's so much more fun this way!
